Yoga – I love my city

image
its been awhile since I’ve been active with any sort of yoga challenge online. I kind of stepped away from that, mostly because my schedule was just crazy (when is it not?!) and I’d always miss a day here or there and then end up saying screw it. The yoga challenges im referring to are the ones featured on Instagram from time to time. I know a lot of people kind of hate it all, but honestly I love the sense of community it’s opened up to me, and the challenge. It’s meant to push you outside of comfort zones which is something I dig. So I wanted to change my record for inconsistency with these challenges and I found one, and stuck with it. It was a challenge based on exploring your city, it asked for anyone to stop drop and yoga around their city and share what they think makes their city rock.

I love my little city, it’s not much, but it’s home. Also it’s got water everywhere!! The amount of blue sky, salty breeze (more like a constant 20mph wind hah) and a very down to earth vibe; how could you not love it, at least a little. A lot of people will complain, freaking complainers, but You know what I say “if you can’t find happiness in your own backyard, no place will ever make you happy.” Don’t get me wrong, travel, get out, shake things up, see the world, do shit, I’m not saying stay in one place FOREVER, but happiness is a state of mind, ya gotta bring that happy to the table and enjoy it, even if that means leaving where you are to find that happy, easier said than done I know, but when is it ever easy?

So I finished this little challenge, that reminded me how lucky I am to live so close to the sea, and to feel so much sunshine everyday. Sometimes it takes getting out of your comfort zone, like taking weird yoga pictures in public, to see the everyday beauty in the things we may take for granted. And who knows you may end up liking where you live a little more than you did yesterday.
